A Little Update on My Life

Hello everyone!
I haven't posted much lately because...well there hasn't been anything to post about! Lol and I didn't think ya'll would want to have loads and loads of pictures with no updates! Haha.
SO.....not much has been happening at home...I don't have a job this summer so basically all I've been doing is staying at the house and working out. Oh I didn't tell ya'll about that did I? (and this DOES relate to Disney!) Well one of the things I want to do in the Disney College Program (aka DCP) is be a Character Performer! And as of right now, I don't look the part (I would LOVE to be friends with a princess!) I'm not overweight or anything like that...I just don't fit the "Princess Stereotype" just yet. So I've been doing the P90X workout( I'm only on day 24 but I can tell a difference!) and been trying to eat right and stuff in order to shed some pounds so I can have a better chance at being a face character. A face character is an actual person (the Princesses, Alice, Peter Pan, etc), while a character "in fur" is typically an animal or something like that (Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, etc).

Here's some Disney lingo that you might need to know. Granted, I don't know a lot of it, so when/if I get into the program, I'll post more. Walt Disney, being the amazing genius he is, created Disney World and Disneyland to be set up like a stage, hence some of the unusual terms.
WDW= Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL

DL= Disneyland in California

DCP= Disney College Program

CP(er)= College Program participant

CM= Cast Member. A Disney employee either full time or part time

MK= Magic Kingdom

DAK (or AK)= Disney's Animal Kingdom

DHS= Disney's Hollywood Studies...originally known as MGM. The name was changed in January 2008

Epcot= Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow

DTD= Downtown Disney

Guests= Visitors who enter the parks

Role= the job you are working

Onstage= area of the parks open to guests

Backstage= area of the parks closed to guests

My top 4 roles for the DCP are : Character Performer (I do have to go to an audition for that), Attractions, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and Merchandising. In the application process, one of the sections is for the roles you are interested in. I've been told (I haven't actually been through an application yet because this is my first time applying) that you are given a list of all the possible roles, and you mark High Interest, Moderate Interest, or Low Interest. Based on your personality in the phone interview, and also what jobs Disney needs to fill, you are placed into a role.

Well that's about it for now! Later on, I'll post more about what each role entails, but until then, Have a Magical Day!!! :)

P.S. One of the guys on the Spring/Spring Advantage 2013 FB page has started a estimated countdown till apps come up based on the date last year. SOOOOO

75 more days till apps are posted!!!!!!
