24 days!
As you can see in the title, only 24 days until check-in!! Which means only 22 days till I leave! I can't wait!!!! Honestly, I'm getting really tired of being in Mississippi...I'm just ready to leave and be out on my own again! (well college isn't technically "on my own" but it's as close as I'm getting for another 2 years lol) I really need to get away again and I also can't WAIT to hang out with my Ohana!!
I just looked back at my posts and realized that I haven't introduced the Ohana!
As many of you know, the Disney movie Lilo and Stitch takes place in Hawaii, and
one of the quotes from that movie is "Ohana means family, and family means that
nobody gets left behind or forgotten." That's what we focus on. Basically I met
all of the Ohana in the facebook group back when it only had 100 members (there
are 2,219 members now) Anyways, we video chatted all through the summer and now
we have all become really close. I am so ready to meet them face to face!
SOOOO :) I started packing the other day! YES I know it's a bit early, but I'm just really excited. And I needed to start moving the pile of stuff for Disney out of my room so I could separate everything. The only things I have ready though are the things I don't use on an everyday basis. (kitchen stuff, decorations, etc.) Now there's starting to be a big pile in the living room corner :) Next week I have to start getting my clothes in order (summer stuff that I'm also not using a the moment..ya know, cause it's winter and all :p haha) I'm going back to work at the bookstore at school from Jan 7th to the 14th to earn a bit more extra cash and say goodbye to everyone there. On the plus side, like I just mentioned, it's extra money...on the down side, it cuts back on my preparation/packing time a whole week! Which is another reason why I started so early. I actually have a pretty extensive packing list from all of the research that I did over the summer. I'll post it separately. Because I like making lists, I started my packing my inventorying everything I had in my pile on a word document and I also put which bag I packed it in (just in case I start looking for something) I know, I'm a nerd, but hey, it'll save me some trouble in the future! lol
On a side note, I had a FANTASTIC Christmas! I am so blessed to have such an awesome family! I got an ipod touch (to replace the one I lost a while back), a digital camera (which I already knew about because I paid for half of it!), some pj pants, a Nancy Drew computer game(HUGE FAN), and a few other apartment things! Santa also got the family the Sue Thomas, F.B.I/Eye DVD series!! Everyone in the family used to watch Sue Thomas EVERY time it came on! It was such a great show...unfortunately it was discontinued in 2005, and they JUST NOW came out with the seasons on DVDs. So I am really excited about that! Unfortunately, I haven't gotten ANYTHING Disney but since I WILL be living there for almost 7 months, I'm sure I can stock up them :) ALSO, my college roomie (also one of my best friends) got TWO One Direction tickets for Christmas! and guess who she's taking!!!!?????!!!!! that's right..THIS GIRL! :) I shall love her forever ;) lol
So tomorrow my mom's side of the family is meeting up and we are having one more Christmas! I can't wait to see all of them (we usually only get together 2 or 3 times a year). We are gonna have a blast!!!!!! Talk to you soon friends!
Have a magical day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. ^^ I'm practicing for Disney! <3

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Exams are OVER!!!! Hallelujah!! Christmas break has finally started and I'm SOOOO pumped! Christmas is my absolute FAVORITE holiday! We have so many family traditions and I can't wait to get started on them! We always bake sugar cookies from scratch and decorate them, and we decorate the tree, and put all the decorations up and go shopping and cook all the time, and it's gonna be fabulous! I still have TONS more presents to buy for family and friends, and only 12 days till Christmas! WOW, just counted that up...I've been so focused on my countdown for Disney that I haven't even thought about the countdown to Christmas! YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!
SO I am officially moved out of the dorm at school and all of my stuff is at home, where I'll be until January 21st! (well actually the 19th when I leave, but that's beside the point lol) I have a pile in my room of all the stuff I'm taking to Disney...right now I don't have any clothes packed up or anything (I'm saving that till after the holidays are over) but all my kitchen stuff and dorm stuff that I know I'm not gonna use till Disney are in this HUGE pile...I don't even know how I'm gonna fit everything in my car! OH by the way! I got a new car! I did have a 1999 Acura, but first of all, it wouldn't near hold all of my stuff, and second, it prolly wouldn't make it all the way to Orlando! SO I got a 2004 Toyota 4Runner! Oh it's SO pretty. I really like it!!!
Anyways, short post because not much is happening...I still haven't gotten my new hire paperwork yet but I checked today and my dashboard went back to "in progress" so from what I've seen from others, I might get it today or tomorrow! EXCITEMENT! Lol...mostly just paperwork and tax information. Talk to you all soon! And good luck on your exams!

NEWS NEWS NEWS! :)
I am WWWWWAAAAAYYYYY overdue for a post and I am SO sorry!I have been crazy busy with school and getting ready for exams and all that jazz. Now that check in is closer and exams are almost over (only 1 week of school left! Hallelujah!), I'll have more free time! only 49 more days!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
My second piece of news is.......I have roommates now!! My immediate roomie's (the one I'll be sharing a room with) name is Jaclyn, but she goes by Jac. She is from Ohio and she is so sweet! We met on the Jan 21st arrival date page through the roommate surveys. We have skyped a couple of times too which I highly recommend to future CPs...We have found a lot in common and now have started talked about what each of us is planning to bring to the apartment! I also have a suitemate! Her name is Raegan, and she is from Texas. She goes by Rae...so in the future when you see me post about Jac and Rae, I'm talking about my roomies! I am so excited! Rae has been talking to one more girl to be her immediate roommate, but as far as I know, they haven't made it official yet. I am so excited about these girls! We all have so much in common....none of us drink, smoke, or party; we all want a Chatham 2 bedroom; we love Disney...It's just gonna be great!
I went Black Friday shopping after Thanksgiving and started buying apartment stuff! After finals, I'll start posting more, and I'll put a packing list on here. I do recommend talking to your roomies ahead of time so you don't have 4 TVs in your apartment! I think Jac may be bring the TV..not completely sure...I know I'm bringing most of the kitchen stuff (the apartment comes with bowls and pots and pans and other essentials, but I heard they might not be in good condition, so I'm bringing some just in case). And I'm bringing a vacuum and some other cleaning stuff. The rest is yet to be determined.
So...updates on my life...well finals start this Friday..eeek! Unfortunately almost all I can think about is Disney! I started studying today though, so it should be good. I have a Cost Accounting final on Friday, Business Finance on Saturday, Management on Monday, and Intermediate Accounting on Wednesday...I know that sounds so horrible doesn't it? That's what I get for being an Accounting major I guess. HAHA! It's ok though because the light at the end of the tunnel is DISNEY!
On a side note, I've been getting kinda sentimental (I think because I'm leaving MC and my friends for a while) so I'm gonna share what's on my mind. That's what a blog is for right? lol
OK here it goes! I'm getting kind of nervous about leaving...I mean this will be my first time out of the "Christian bubble" and I'll be surrounded by the world. I've always gone to church and my church friends have been my friends at school. Then I've come to a Christian college. I'm surrounded by genuine people who love me and want me to succeed...I mean yes, I've had my downfalls and stuff, I've always had that support group behind me. It really made me realize this at the Swannanoa meeting the other night (if I haven't mentioned it before, I am in a tribe..at MC,instead of sororities and fraternities we have social clubs and tribes..our mascot is a Choctaw so it goes with the theme. There are 4 tribes: Swannanoa, Kissimee, Laguna, and Neenamoosha) Anyways, at the ST (our abbreviation) meeting, I got up and shared a little bit about me going to Disney and things to pray for and I realized that I'm really starting to get scared. What if I'm not prepared enough to share the gospel? What if I'm all alone? What if I'm not as strong as I need to be? WELL right when all of those thoughts were going through my head, Hanna (our president) asked all the girls (135 of them) to gather around me and another girl going on a mission trip for the semester and pray out loud for us. I'm telling you I've never been more blessed in my life! Hearing all of those voices praying for me and supporting me was amazing. I know that no matter what, God is going to be with me in Disney World and even if I can't feel him or see him doing His work, He is there and he IS working! One of the girls told me, "Even if you don't think you are doing or saying anything to share the gospel, His light is ALWAYS shining, even when I think it's not." SO...I'm ready for all that God has for me! I know it will be hard and tiring and I'll have temptation everywhere, but God will get me through because he is ALWAYS there and His will will be accomplished...and that is such a comfort :) I'm gonna miss everyone at home and at school, but I know that they are supportive of what I am doing and I KNOW they are praying for me!
Sorry for the long post BUT I will try to post more often when exams are through so all of the posts won't be this long. Let me know if you have any questions or comments! :) Love ya'll

Auditions and Life :)
Hi friends! :) I had my Entertainment audition last Friday! It was fantastic. I unfortunately got cut after the first round BUT that doesn't mean I didn't get in, that just means that the casting directors had seen all they needed to see. We should find out in November whether we got in or not. But regardless of whether I get to be a Character Performer or not, I'M STILL GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!! :) So here's how my day went yesterday:
I woke up at 3am to catch my flight in Gulfport at 6:20am. I flew to Atlanta, GA, and then to Nashville, TN for the audition. It turned out that 2 of the fabulous people who I have video chatted with over the summer were going to the Nashville audition too! (from the DCP Facebook page. If I haven't mentioned it already, the FB page is a FANTASTIC way to meet people ahead of time!) Katie, Kyle (nicknamed KP), and I all met at the airport and decided to take a taxi together to the audition. Due to the fact that we got in at 10am and the audition would last through lunch, we asked the cabbie to go by somewhere to eat....and we ended up going to McDonalds...in a taxi...BUT not just any taxi; a MINI VAN taxi...lol it was so funny! When we finally made it to the audition place, we were the first ones there and the lady in charge of the ballet studio thought we were in charge of the audition! HA! But anyways, Katie and I changed and got freshened up, and by that time, several ppl had arrived. Katie, KP, and I were all joking around and picking on each other. Then we started getting strange looks...we realized that everyone there was meeting for the first time, whereas we had known each other for like 5 or 6 months. We had to explain that we already knew each other from FB.
Anyways...so the when the audition started, we lined up and signed in. Then, they measured us (Disney is very strict on heights) and took a headshot of each of us. There were 79 at my audition. After the main guy introduced the casting directors, we started learning the dance! It was really easy (I was in show choir for 6 years in high school so I pick up on dances quickly). One of the things I loved about the audition was that after each person performed in front of the casting directors (we did the segment 3 times through), the rest of the people clapped for them. It was just a little vote of confidence knowing that no matter how bad you thought you did, there were always people supporting you :)
After the dance, there was....ELIMINATION! Don't worry though, it's not intimidating or anything. The main guy came into the holding room and said "ok, if your number isn't called, thank you for coming and you will get an email sometime in November. If your number IS called, we need to see you for the next round." Unfortunately, Neither Katie, KP, or I got called for the second round, but that doesn't mean we didn't get it!! I'm still holding out hope! :) and regardless of whether I got this or not, I'm still going to Disney next semester and I have an AWESOME role! :D :D
So, after we were eliminated, me, Katie, KP, Trey, and Mitch (they were coming to pick Katie up to go to Disney World and they lived close by) all went to Taco Bell for some lunch! We had SOOO much fun and SO many memories were made! Even though I didn't make it past the first round of the audition, it was TOTALLY worth it to go! :) Anyone who has an audition for the rest of the entertainment tour, GOOD LUCK and STAY POSITIVE! :)
Magical things will happen if you just believe! :)

The role was my second choice to Attractions BUT I AM STILL SO EXCITED! I get to make little girls into princesses every day! It's going to be fantastic! So now, friends, you are reading the blog of an OFFICIAL DISNEY CAST MEMBER! I still can't believe it! APPLICATIONS!!
Sunday, Sept. 9
AHHHH!!!! APPLICATIONS CAME OUT THURSDAY!! Sorry for waiting so long to post this! BUT... I applied within 3 hours of them posting and GUESS WHAT?!?! I passed the web-based interview! I was totally psyching myself out about it and it was definitely not as hard as I thought it would be. My phone interview is scheduled for tomorrow night (Monday) at 5:30! As soon as I get done writing this post, I'm gonna be practicing interview questions and getting prepared!
SO here's a little on how my day went on the application day (and the application process). First off, they do not announce what time the applications will open, so everyone on the FB page checked at midnight just in case! It was SOO hard to go to sleep! I woke up at least 5 times during the night...and each time, I checked the College Program page :). I finally got out of be around 7:45 and checked the page again, to no avail. I figured that if they didn't go up at midnight, then it would either be at 8am EST (I'm in central time btw) when the work day started or at noon. So when I saw that they weren't up when I woke up, I automatically figured noon. WELL, Disney is a trickster! Sneaky, sneaky! After I got ready for class, I just decided to check the page ONE LAST TIME but honestly, I didn't think they would be up. So the page began loading.....and then.....BAM! The application link was there! I had a little conniption fit in the middle of my dorm room! EXCITEMENT! :) Unfortunately, I didn't have time to do the application before class :( It was so funny though. I was sitting in Business Finance and the ONLY thing I remember was that someone asked a question about Disney! I could not pay attention for anything! I covered a page of my notebook with Disney doodles, and I fidgeted the whole time, and I probably looked at my watch 60 times in the hour and 15 mins that we have to be in class.
As soon as the professor said class was over I bolted over to the Healthplex (I had to get my allergy shot) and then ran to my room. I sat on the futon and immediately started the application. The first thing you had to do was fill out your basic information (name, address, email, phone #, etc.). Then you filled out all of your past job experience INCLUDING volunteer work. I ended up having to call recruiting to see how to enter the information on that because they only have an "employer," "field," "job title," and "start date/end date." With the volunteer work that I've done, its like all separate cause with my tribe (my college's version of a sorority) we have to have 8 hours of community service, but it's all, like, a hour here, 2 hours there...blah, blah, etc, etc. So for all you future appliers, you just need to put what type of community service and a general date of how long. Anyway, after that, you get to the list of role. There are 20 options and you mark high, moderate, low, or no interest. I was very lenient and I marked 8 high interest--Character Performer, Attractions, Merchandising, BBB, Lifeguarding, Vacation Planner, Photopass, and I think the last one was either Character Attendant or Costuming. I think I had a few moderate, a couple lows, and 4 no interest (Transportation, Custodial, Housekeeping, and Concierge).
After that, you have to wait 1-3 hours before you get the email for the web interview. My wait time was 1 hour and 15 mins. The web interview is in 3 parts. The first part is verifying your information. In the 2nd part, you have some multiple choice questions. For example, they asked "What would you do if a 4 year old was hammering something, and he smashed his finger?" The answer choices were 1) Comfort him, 2) Treat the wound, 3) Try to take his mind off of it/make him laugh, or 4) ignore him. I think I put 1 as my answer. Most of those were situational questions. You have 50 seconds to answer and then it would take you to the next question. Then second part was the strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, or strongly agree part. That part was fairly easy. Make sure you don't do many neutrals! I think I did 2...Disney wants STRONG answers. After the web interview you immediately know whether you can schedule a phone interview. You will then get an email with the link to schedule. When I did mine it was REALLY slow (so if you apply the first day, that's likely to happen). I ended up scheduling for Monday, Sept. 10th at 5:30pm.
Mon. Sept 17th
SO SO SO sorry for not posting! I've been so crazy busy with school and stuff that I just HAVE NOT had ANY free time at all. So I will post about the phone interview now as well :)
I had my interview at 5:30pm after I got off work. She called 2 minutes late but that's ok :) the first thing we did was verify my information, then she said she would ask why I want to work for Disney, and ask about my past work experience, and role specifics. She was SOO sweet and upbeat, and that kind of made me less nervous. I had this great paragraph written down about why I want to work for Disney, but I changed it up a little so I wouldn't sound like I was reading from a paper. I would advise anyone else applying to practice some of the harder questions, just so you have time to think them through. Anyways, my interviewer and I bonded over the fact that we both like to sing. She asked me what I would do if a task was repetitive and I told her that I would probably start singing, and she said she does the same thing! After that, the interview was fantastic! We laughed a lot and I felt like I had some really good answers. :) Then began the wait...
Today is day 10 of the wait process. I just heard like 20 mins ago that Spring Advantage letters have just started going out SOOO, I COULD GET ACCEPTED TODAY!!!!!!!!!! I am so so so excited and nervous. For the past 2 days, Spring acceptance emails have been coming out, but no SA, so all of us on the FB group have been freaking out. I know that if God wants me to be in the College Program, he will put me there no matter how many ppl apply, but it still makes me anxious because I have based so much of my future on this. I know, I know, I should let God handle it all, but sometimes it is hard to put all of your trust in him. My constant prayer the past 10 days has been for God to help me give all the trust to him. :)
Well I'll let yall know what happens!! :)

Hello friends!!!
The summer is almost over and you know what that means?! APPLICATIONS WILL BE UP SOON!!! I am SOOOO pumped! I go back to school next Thursday (August 16th) and then I'll have like 2 weeks and then Application time! :) Cue jumping up and down screaming! :)
LOL I had to add that in there :) I actually am pretty excited about this next semester. I have a TON going on but also, my semester will (hopefully) be revolving around DISNEY!
SO obviously when applications come out, I will document the app. process, so this post will be about the available roles. I already mentioned which roles I'm interested in, so I'll put those first. (Disclaimer: this post will prolly end up being pretty long so sorry bout that!)

Vacation Planner: (??) Selling tickets and packages to guests outside of the Disney theme parks.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: ($7.92/hour) Hostess, called a "Fairy Godmother In-Training" who styles hair and makeup on guests ages 3-12.
Main Entrance Operations: (??) Parking, greeting guests, and monitoring the entrances of the 4 theme parks.
Custodial: ($7.39/hour) Cleaning and maintaining upkeep of the Disney parks and resorts.

Those wages are based on Spring 2012, so they are subject to change a little depending on when you do the College Program. On the application, you will have a place to put High Interest, Low Interest, or No Interest on the list of roles. KEEP IN MIND, you could be considered for any of the roles you put in high or low interest! One of the hard things for me will probably be staying open to many roles, but also being selective. I REALLY want to be a CP!! So that's all for tonight! Feel free to ask me ANY questions! I might have a chance to post between now and application time, but you will DEFINITELY hear from me the first week of September!! :) :)
Have an absolutely positively Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious DAY!!! :)

A Little Update on My Life
Hello everyone!
I haven't posted much lately because...well there hasn't been anything to post about! Lol and I didn't think ya'll would want to have loads and loads of pictures with no updates! Haha.
SO.....not much has been happening at home...I don't have a job this summer so basically all I've been doing is staying at the house and working out. Oh I didn't tell ya'll about that did I? (and this DOES relate to Disney!) Well one of the things I want to do in the Disney College Program (aka DCP) is be a Character Performer! And as of right now, I don't look the part (I would LOVE to be friends with a princess!) I'm not overweight or anything like that...I just don't fit the "Princess Stereotype" just yet. So I've been doing the P90X workout( I'm only on day 24 but I can tell a difference!) and been trying to eat right and stuff in order to shed some pounds so I can have a better chance at being a face character. A face character is an actual person (the Princesses, Alice, Peter Pan, etc), while a character "in fur" is typically an animal or something like that (Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, etc).
Here's some Disney lingo that you might need to know. Granted, I don't know a lot of it, so when/if I get into the program, I'll post more. Walt Disney, being the amazing genius he is, created Disney World and Disneyland to be set up like a stage, hence some of the unusual terms.
WDW= Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL
DL= Disneyland in California
DCP= Disney College Program
CP(er)= College Program participant
CM= Cast Member. A Disney employee either full time or part time
MK= Magic Kingdom
DAK (or AK)= Disney's Animal Kingdom
DHS= Disney's Hollywood Studies...originally known as MGM. The name was changed in January 2008
Epcot= Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow
DTD= Downtown Disney
Guests= Visitors who enter the parks
Role= the job you are working
Onstage= area of the parks open to guests
Backstage= area of the parks closed to guests
My top 4 roles for the DCP are : Character Performer (I do have to go to an audition for that), Attractions, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and Merchandising. In the application process, one of the sections is for the roles you are interested in. I've been told (I haven't actually been through an application yet because this is my first time applying) that you are given a list of all the possible roles, and you mark High Interest, Moderate Interest, or Low Interest. Based on your personality in the phone interview, and also what jobs Disney needs to fill, you are placed into a role.
Well that's about it for now! Later on, I'll post more about what each role entails, but until then, Have a Magical Day!!! :)
P.S. One of the guys on the Spring/Spring Advantage 2013 FB page has started a estimated countdown till apps come up based on the date last year. SOOOOO
75 more days till apps are posted!!!!!!
